Optional Activity 1: Early morning balloon ride. You will be dropped off at the takeoff site by the balloon company and picked up from your landing site by our safari driver. Balloon safaris are a romantic and evocative way of experiencing the wilderness of East Africa, as you gracefully and silently fly over the plains teeming with herds of wildlife in the early morning. Typically, a balloon safari begins at the break of dawn, about 6 am, and lasts for around 1 hour, during which you will fly over parts of the vast Masai Mara plain, seeing the magnificent wildlife below, spread over several square kilometers of the reserve. Balloon flights are available daily in Masai Mara and take off from designated sites where the disturbance to animals is kept to a minimum. The flight is followed by a champagne breakfast "in the bush", with a well-laid-out seating arrangement and waiters on hand, to give you a fitting final to your memorable flight in the wild. Then you will start a game drive again with our driver guide. Picnic lunch offers wonderful scenery. The lunch box is packed by the hotel you stay at.

MATERUNI COFFEE AND WATER FALLS TOUR MATERUNI WATER FALLS AND COFFEE TOUR
Start your mini-adventure with the short but fascinating drive from Moshi town up the lush slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro to the village of Materuni, approximately 1,800 m above sea level.
This is market garden territory and has the perfect mixture of climate and soil to produce some of the BEST COFFEE IN AFRICA. You'll visit a coffee farm and learn about how coffee is grown, harvested, and processed, and you'll try your hand at roasting and preparing a fresh cup of coffee the Chagga way.
After a delightful coffee break (so much better than the ones at work!) you'll take a beautiful 45-MINUTE HIKE through the hills and valleys en route to the Materuni Falls. You'll pass THROUGH BANANA AND COFFEE PLANTATIONS, up and down mini-valleys, across ridges, and through narrow splashing rivulets.
Along the way, your guide will teach you about local plants and how they are used for food and traditional medicine, as well as give you more insight into the local Chagga culture. It's your chance to ask questions about a lifestyle that's probably very different from your own!
You'll hear the Falls before you see them, and once they come into view, you might be lucky enough to see a rainbow sheen as the splashing waters split the sunlight. The Falls are hidden away in a pristine valley with cliffs towering 200ft overhead. The mountain waters fall straight down in a shimmering curtain to splash in the rippling pool where you can float, take a swim, and chill out -literally, as these are PURE MOUNTAIN WATERS and not yet heated by the sun. But it'll be welcome after your hike. Afterward, you will drive back to Moshi town then proceed to Kilimanjaro airport

Tour Highlights
South Africa’s largest city remains its financial and commercial heart. It’s in this fast-paced metropolis that the country’s radical political and social transformation is most evident – this is the ‘Rainbow Nation’ at work. It’s a heady experience, with contrasts of every kind around every single corner.
Our tour sets off for Constitution Hill, home of South Africa’s architectural marvel, the Constitutional Court, and the site of Johannesburg’s Old Fort Prison (closed Sundays).
We explore the inner city of Johannesburg and the influence the discovery of gold brought to this city and indeed South Africa.
We visit and explore the Maboneng Precinct, a wonderful example of urban regeneration of the east side of the Johannesburg CBD which is now home to several independent retail, restaurants, art, and entertainment venues – fresh and unique lifestyle offerings of this new exciting development.
We return to your hotel via the flipside of the coin, the lush, up-market suburb of lower Houghton. A city of contrasts, that’s for certain.

The South Western Township is home to over 2 million people and is deeply enriched with history.
Tour Highlights
You know the name. It’s a legend. SOWETO, an acronym for South Western Township, is home to over 2 million people, who, despite living in crowded and chaotic conditions, have a tangible sense of community, one which ironically, the ordered, walled, elitist northern suburbs lack. Inside Soweto, we visit the Hector Pieterson Museum, and discover the cause of the tragic riots which led to his death; we pass Mandela House, and give you time to visit this fascinating little museum (own account ± R160 on weekdays or ± R240 on weekends and public holidays).
Our journey continues to Regina Mundi Church, the site of many secret underground meetings of the then-banned political parties. Finally, we take you past the largest stadium in Africa, Soccer City, host of the 2010 FIFA World Cup opening and final matches. This magnificent stadium, also known as ‘The Calabash’ has a seating capacity of almost 95,000.
Soweto is unlike a suburb you’ve ever seen or been to, yet the history of struggle encapsulated here is a cornerstone of the South African story.
